The main railway station serving the area is Tiverton Parkway Railway Station. While it carries the town's name, it is actually located several miles east of Tiverton in the village of Sampford Peverell. The station is situated close to the M5 motorway and the A361, making it a convenient park-and-ride option. Stagecoach South West operates a regular daily bus service (route 373) from outside the station building, connecting to Tiverton town centre and Cullompton. A taxi rank is available at the station entrance. There are two main railway stations in Exeter: Exeter St Davids Railway Station and Exeter Central. Exeter St Davids is the city's primary mainline station for intercity services, while Exeter Central is located in the city center for shorter, local journeys. In Taunton, the sole railway station is Taunton railway station. It serves as a major hub on the London–Penzance line and connects to Exeter via regular train services. Wellington original railway station closed in 1964 as part of the Beeching cuts. Plans to reopen a station have been approved and funded, with a projected completion date around 2028. While a Cullompton railway station does not currently exist, a new one is expected to open in the future. The original station, which opened in 1844, was closed in 1964 as part of the Beeching cuts.
