Brambles Bed and Breakfast has a large south-facing garden with views towards Tiverton and the Exe Valley, the Blackdown Hills and Culm Valley. Heavily planted borders, with hundreds of hardy perennials, azaleas, camellia, ferns, flowering quince, forsythia, fuchsias, lilac, magnolias, pieris, rhododendrons, roses, skimmia and viburnum.

Terraced with seating areas, lawns, paths, patios, hedges, green houses, sheds, plant tables and pots, the garden provides a welcoming and tranquil environment for guests to appreciate. There are often plants for sale and free to take away.

The garden has over one hundred types of garden plants, and different varieties, including achillea, agapanthus, allium, bergenia, bluebells, canna lilies, crocosmia, daylilies, geum, hardy geraniums, hellebores, hesperantha (Kaffir lily), hostas, iris, Japanese anemones, lupins, oriental poppies, penstemon, peonies, pulmonaria, red hot pokers, salvia and Siberian iris. Most are sourced locally from the Old Well Garden Centre and Cove Garden Nursery.

Brambles Bed and Breakfast is an ideal setting for bird enthusiasts to see garden birds up close. There are four bird feeding stations dotted around the garden, bird baths and water troughs for the birds to find fresh water.

We feed a mixture of seeds, fat blocks and peanuts to attract more than twenty different species including blackbirds, blue tits, bullfinches, chaffinches, coal tits, collared doves, dunnocks, goldfinches, great tits, great spotted woodpeckers, green finches, long-tailed tits, nuthatches, robins, siskins, song thrush, sparrows, starlings, wood pigeons, wrens and yellowhammer. One of the feeding stations is opposite the dining room window and guests are likely to see a variety of birds feeding at breakfast.

The garden also attracts a variety of other wildlife, including bats, foxes, hedgehogs, rabbits and squirrels. If you sit in the garden at twilight on a summer evening you will often spot bats flying between the trees.
