Brambles Bed and Breakfast - Tiverton - Reviews - Page 14.

They went out of their way to look after us and make us feel welcome in many different ways. Cosy and very clean room and a good bath/room. Easter in Devon. Four of us spent 2 nights at Brambles over Easter while visiting friends in the area. We chose it mainly for the location, although it was also very reasonably priced. We had 2 adjacent rooms in the garden block, each was clean, well equipped, comfortable and extremely cosy (ideal when it rained and even snowed a bit). Breakfast is served in the house; the food was cooked to order and everything we ate was of good quality. The hosts were friendly and helpful. On their recommendation we ate in the local pub one night which was very good, on a summer's evening it would be walkable. The B&B is in a lovely spot with views down the valley, and they have a nice garden with outside seating. We hope to return to do some walking. Overnight stay. Lovely room; clean and well furnished with all accessories. Very quiet location with lovely views. Friendly and helpful owners who cook a good breakfast. Would definitely recommend. Pub in nearby village seemed nice as well. Superb stopover.

En route to Falmouth this seemed a good stopping point to break up a long journey, and we were really happy we did book Brambles. Clean, quaint and well equipped rooms, flexible friendly service and a very reasonable price. The place is tucked away in the countryside (directions sent by email which were v. useful) and the area was lovely and quiet at night, but also suitably close to the main road to continue journeying in the morning. Excellent. So glad we found this bed and breakfast. Booking easy as were directions. Greeted by owner who showed us to our room. Wonderful views and very peaceful. Pleasant room, large comfy bed, good en suite with soft large towels, excellent tea tray with plenty of choice for coffee and teas, fresh milk, bottled water, biscuits and mints. Even packet of nibbles. We could control the heating, which was excellent, especially on a very cold day. Breakfast was served in the main house. Plenty of choice again and cooked to order. Excellent quality. Would love to stay again and recommend to family and friends. Ideal for our particular purposes.

We (a couple in our seventies) needed to find a Bed & Breakfast establishment in Devon . Preferably one out in the country, and preferably one which made purchasing a breakfast optional. This establishment met our requirements ideally. It is set amidst beautiful countryside, but also very handy for the M5 and various A roads. We opted not to have a breakfast solely in order to save time each morning, as we had a heavy visiting schedule over the course of five days, sizeable distances to cover, and a wish to be back at The Brambles usually before darkness descended - we were in Devon in early October. For my wife and I, the acid test for any hotel or guest house is how, having experienced one night and morning of staying there, we feel about returning to it for further nights. The Brambles passed this crucial test handsomely. The owners' detailed, written advice (sent in advance) to take the slightly longer route from the M5 to reach their premises, thereby having more passing places available on typical Devon lanes, was very good advice. By following it, we had no problems at all, even at night time.

Their instructions as to the route to follow, and the one to consider avoiding (despite SATNAVs liking to suggest it) worked very well. As we headed 'home' each evening after longish days out, we looked forward to returning to our room: one of three located in the 'out houses' rather than in the main building. Our positive frame of mind stemmed from several important factors. 1 Parking at the premises was easy and convenient. No concerns there at all. No need to hurry back in order to be sure of a parking spot. We WERE sure of one, even when all guest rooms were occupied, no matter at what time we returned. 2 We knew after Day 1 that we would be returning to a comfortable room which would have been serviced to a high standard during our time out of it. This remained true throughout our 5-night stay. We arrived back each evening to surroundings which were warm and felt welcoming, not least because of the wide range of sachet drinks and biscuits awaiting us, but also because of the excellent Wi-Fi facility, the high quality TV picture on a TV set which also offered a DVD facility, the easily-operated shower, the attractive decor, and the very comfy bed; we like them to be on the firm side.

Our communications by email were very good and David and Alison were excellent hosts, who try hard to please. The location was convenient for exploring this part of Devon. We were able to find Brambles following our detailed map of the area. An Ideal place for overnight stay. We stayed here to 'break up' a trip from Worcester to Camborne. It was an off the cuff booking and went through with no problems. We were latish due to traffic congestion, but Alison understood, as she had heard of the problems on the radio. The room itself was very nice and clean, and the bathroom had a bath with shower, so we had a choice. There was a substantial complimentary tray of teas, coffee & chocolate drinks, along with TV that had freeview. Also, there was free Wi-Fi. Directions to Brambles were very accurate, even though you would think that you were going wrong due to narrow roads, you would eventually find your way there. Next morning, we were cooked a lovely breakfast (cooked as we wanted it and not just 'plonked' in front of us), by Dave, and there was a selection of cereals and fruit juices as well as yoghurts. Lovely house and gardens. Lovely house and gardens although we stayed in chalet beside house.
