Brambles Bed and Breakfast - Tiverton - Reviews - Page 35.
Hotel | Bed and Breakfast | Accommodation | Tiverton | Devon
- We had a lovely stay at Brambles Bed and Breakfast. Our hosts were wonderful and very knowledgeable about Devon and West Somerset (Cullompton, Tiverton and Wellington). The breakfast (menu) was second to none, and the position of the b and b was just wonderful. We stepped out of our room into a beautiful garden full of flowers. The accommodation contained everything you could have wished for and the bathroom, if a little on the small side, had a powerful shower, easy to use. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others who were thinking of visiting the area. Thank you to Brambles Bed and Breakfast for making our stay so fantastic. We stayed 4 nights and the best evening meals we had were at the Halfway House (Willand, Cullompton) and at the Italian restaurant Ponte Vecchio (Tiverton). We did the round robin trip from Paignton, open topped bus, 90 minute boat journey and return ride to Paignton on heritage steam railway. We got to Paignton by train from Tiverton Parkway station which is only 10 mins away from the b and b. We also visited Buckfast Abbey and Exeter, to the latter we also travelled by train. We would recommend all of these.
- Very friendly hosts. Beautifull view and wonderful breakfast (menu). Read the email from the owners about how to get there. Navigation on postal code is to the general area, use 'Brambles Bed and Breakfast' (Tiverton) or 'Whitnage Cottage'.
- Very nice hosts, who can provide suggestion for restaurants and general advice for places to visit and things to do in Devon and West Somerset (Cullompton, Tiverton and Wellington area). We have been there for just one night to reach Exeter Airport the day after but would have stayed longer!
- Beautiful, peaceful location, just ten minutes from the M5 motorway (Junction 27). Perfect place to break the long journey home from Cornwall. Friendly hosts, readily helping with luggage without having to be asked.
- A great place to stay. Quiet and peaceful though a little difficult to find if new to the area and rather tired after a long journey!. The instructions however were excellent. If you follow them to the letter, then you should find Brambles without difficulty. Owners very friendly and accommodation facilities excellent. A pub down in the village has good reports, food wise, however, as we were celebrating an anniversary, we went to an Italian restaurant in Tiverton (4 miles away?), the Ponte Vecchio (Tiverton). I can thoroughly recommend it - food and staff wise!
- Where's the column for breakfasts? It deserves one of its own! Superb choice of items, both cooked and continental style (menu). We loved the 'chalet' rooms; very comfortable. The garden is very well kept, and there is an air of tranquillity about the place. The owners are helpful and friendly. Don't overlook this corner of the country; there's lots to do and it has a less touristy feel than the coastal areas. Local pubs: Redwoods Inn (Uplowman, Tiverton) is a real 'local', and serves an excellent choice of food, reasonably priced. The Globe Inn (Sampford Peverell, Tiverton) is very popular, also good, but noisier. And the Hickory Inn (Halberton, Tiverton) is an American Smokehouse in the countryside with good food at very good prices with huge portions. Don't miss it! We did local walks, plus the Tiverton Museum and the Horse Drawn Boat Trip (Tiverton Canal Company) in our 3 days there. All very enjoyable.
- Alison was very welcoming. Lovely accommodation, very comfortable bed. The room had a good selection of extras e.g. Biscuits, peanuts etc. Breakfast (menu) was excellent. We only stayed one night so can’t really comment on things to do etc.
- Brilliant hosts......Great overnight stay.... Again.... Definitely one of the best b & b's in the UK.
- We thought everything was beyond expectations for the price and would definitely stay again. I think they were worried about the narrow approach that the sat nav takes but we found it fine and most competent drivers would. We went to the nearby Redwoods Inn (Uplowman, Tiverton) for a meal in the evening and would recommend going there.
- David and Alison run a traditional b and b offering high quality accommodation in a picturesque setting, offering stunning views over their pretty garden. Their attention to detail is amazing with a well-stocked beverage tray, water, wine glasses and snacks, toiletries hairdryer etc and a comprehensive choice of breakfast (menu) options. Special diets are well catered for. They were friendly and welcoming and offered helpful suggestions re: route directions and places to eat. We ate at the Redwoods Inn (Uplowman, Tiverton) which is a traditional pub serving, tasty food, in a friendly atmosphere. It is walking distance from the Brambles, along the road, but it was ok as it was still light. Later in the year I would carry a head torch (or use the one's provided by the owners).
- Thank you so much for our lovely stay could not fault anything all the little touches where great and breakfast (menu) was lovely. You would have trouble finding a better place to stay than this. The Globe Inn (Sampford Peverell, Tiverton) is a good place to eat, might want to book if going on the weekend.
- Everything was excellent from the warm welcome to the substantial breakfast (menu) the next morning. The wonderful view from the garden was an added bonus.
- Friendly welcome and good pre-visit communication. Immaculate accommodation with . . . drumroll, wait for it . . . A COMFY bed!!!! . The first comfy b&b bed I have slept in for years! Immaculate bathroom with thick, soft towels. Kettle, bottled water and a wide range of tea, coffee and other hot drinks provided plus biscuits. Above and beyond on thoughtful touches such as quiet fan during extremely hot weather. Breakfast (menu) delicious and extremely generous, extensive offering. Yup, I liked it. Well, done and long may your business continue to be successful, you deserve it to be so. Good local restaurants nearby and in Tiverton. Close to a couple of National Trust properties Knightshayes Court (Bolham, Tiverton) and Killerton (Broadclyst, Exeter). Heed the directions given to you, the lanes are narrow even if you are used to single track lanes. It’s a great place to stay.
- What a gem of a place David and Alison were super friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Their knowledge of Devon and West Somerset (Cullomtpon, Tiverton and Wellington area) is excellent. Welcome tray super full and good quality product. Breakfast (menu), never seen so much on offer, yoghurt, fruit, huge choice of cereals, cooked offerings wow great local produce well cooked and presented. Will return in a heartbeat thank you Alison and David. Follow owners rec route, easy to find.
- Lovely room, spotless and comfortable. Friendly, accommodating hosts. Thank you for having us!
- Dave & Alison were extremely helpful & welcoming. The accommodation was perfect. It was very clean & had everything one could ask for. The breakfast (menu) was faultless & really enjoyed by all the guests including ourselves. The gardens & view were also a lovely attraction. I would highly recommend this b&b. The Globe Inn (Sampford Peverell, Tiverton) pub & restaurant was lovely for food. If you want a quieter pace of life the canal walks along the Grand Western Canal Country Park (aka the Tiverton Canal) are a must, I have a disabled buggy & it was ideal. There are many different places to expore along the canal & all were beautiful. Another very peaceful & enjoyable place was Staple Hill, again there are a lot of different pathways to take & all have something different, the viewpoints are lovely.
- Warmly welcomed and shown to my beautiful room. As the weather had been hot the curtains had thoughtfully been closed and a fan put on so the room was cool and welcoming. The place was so quiet and restful, instructions to get there easy to follow. Loved it. Ideal base to see so much of Westcountry.
- Hosts Alison and Dave were great people offering advice about the local community, facilities and of course very welcome to share tips on how they have such a beautiful garden. A wonderful array of shrubs and flowers. Look out for the bird feeders in garden and the wealth of birds that visit! The Redwoods Inn (Uplowman, Tiverton) is only a 15 minute walk from the b&b, which serves good beer and cider plus a well-stocked food menu. Locals were very friendly both times we visited on an evening. Minor cautionary note is that the road is narrow in places to and from Uplowman (3/4 of a mile) to b&b, although I didn’t experience any issues.
- Well-equipped cosy accommodation in a peaceful location with beautiful views. Lovely, friendly hosts and a great choice of breakfast (menu). Thank you.
