Our room was not en suite, as we had thought it would be, but we had a private bathroom. Everything was in good working order except I couldn't adjust the mixer for the shower over the bath... but that may just have been 'me'! Despite being at a budget price, the stay was comfortable and everything looked spotlessly clean except the green towels...maybe white ones that could be boil washed maybe better? We would definitely consider staying here again and would recommend it to friends. A good b&b for its price. You'll most likely need a satnav to find this B&B,(only a short drive off the M5) though once you have, it's a nicely appointed annexed/chalet-style accommodation. I say 'accommodation' because unless you specify 'with breakfast' when you book, you'll need to pay an additional £7.50 per head extra for breakfast. Parking was easy, as you can park just outside your door. the room was clean and tidy, though small and a very snug fit with the pine framed double bed taking up most of the room. The heating on such a cold night was great with a powerful radiator providing the requirement.
All the little extras were provided for within the room and whilst it had a few beams to lend a certain character, it felt a bit tired and lacked any real charm. For a business trip, such as this was it was fine, though not perhaps for a romantic. the bathroom again was clean and tidy and functional. The proprietor was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. All in the all for the price we paid we had good value. Fantastic host, delicious breakfast, quaint location and rooms with picturesque views! Highly recommend. My partner and I made a last minute booking and couldn't off been more happy with our choice. When we arrived the host waited for us and greeted us on arrival, he was a pleasure to meet and gave us some great travelling tips. He even asked us what time we'd like our breakfast cooked, which was a nice personal touch. Our room was the garden room and it was perfect. Very clean, comfortable bed, LCD tv, bottled water and a tray with tea and coffee making facilities which came to good use after travelling for nearly 10 hrs. The location was very quiet and picturesque, everything you'd imagine staying in the country. Would love to stay again and will highly recommend to friends. Thanks again! Ciao!!!
"Lovely welcome, and breakfast was fabulous!" Very welcomed by the host, thank you very much. Had lovely evening in, and went to Redwoods Inn for dinner - that was a lovely local pub to go to. Breakfast was gorgeous - made to our liking. Thank you. Very clean, friendly, quiet - ideal for overnight stays. Wonderful views of the countryside. Friendly, comfortable & clean. We were only there for one night but the owners were very helpful and the room clean and comfortable. The lanes to it were very, very narrow and the turn in has a drop at one edge. The cottage does not have the same name, so in the dark it can be confusing to find - however the owners are happy to stand out in the lane waving to guide you. The pub at the end of the lane is very friendly and we had a good meal, but take a good torch if you intend walking to it in the dark. We arrived late and left early so did not have time for Breakfast, but it was nice to have tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits in the room. Good and clean. This accommodation is very clean and comfortable if a bit remote.
Local pub very friendly and the food is good but take a torch if you want to walk it ( about 15 minutes) as the lane is pitch black and full of rainy puddles when we were there). Owners were business like. Breakfast was of high quality. Comfortable B&B. We stayed there for one night and found it comfortable and warm albeit as mentioned elsewhere the rooms in the annexe are fairly small. However the Breakfast in the morning was more than adequate compensation offering a wide choice which was freshly prepared. Home from home. Recently returned from a 3 day stay at 'The Brambles B & B' The overall feeling we had was of being 'home from home'. David and Alison the proprietors were really friendly and always ready with a chat on our return from a day out. The tea/coffee/milk(and mints) were refreshed for our return. Breakfast was good (my husband wholly recommends the Full English). The only thing of note to mention is that it is necessary to negotiate very narrow country lanes to get there. Look forward to our next stay. Delightful weekend away. My husband and I visited Devon for a wedding and booked two days at the Brambles. I can quite honestly say that this BB was a little gem.
Very easy to find and in a beautiful scenic location. We stayed in the Garden Room which was cosy, light and comfortable. David and Alison were great hosts and take pride in the little business they run. Cooked breakfast was wonderful and set you up for the day. Thank you for a fabulous stay in Devon!!! Countryside Retreat. Tucked away down narrow country lanes we received a very friendly welcome from the family running this B&B. Overall we were very happy with our stay, the room was comfortable, clean and well presented in a beautiful rural location A few simple changes would take this property from very good to excellent. A very pleasant stay and good value. We just spent two nights at Brambles, which we felt was very good value. Although we'd requested the room in the cottage, it was unavailable, so we stayed in the Garden Room in the annex and were pleased that we had. Although it was not a large room, it was pretty, with a handsome and very comfortable bed, excellent linens, and good pillows. The room had an up-to-date en suite bathroom with a generous shower. We had our own door directly outside and close to the parking area. We also had two large windows looking out on the garden and parking.
