Pleasant stay. Stopped off here en route to Torquay, excellent directions and only 10 minutes from motorway, although narrow lanes. The accommodation was good, breakfast excellent and hosts welcoming. Our room in the main house only had a bath, but this was fine with plenty of hot water. The annex rooms were also present with good facilities. The nearby pub was friendly with good beer and a fair range of food at reasonable prices. Great stopping place. Stopped here with a friend as part of LEJOG. Friendly welcome. Locked our bikes away for the night. Excellent room. Bath only, no shower. Great night’s sleep. Great food in the morning. Recommend. Great value, clean B&B - Friendly owners. We stayed for one night when attending a wedding at the nearby Muddifords Court. Very happy with our choice as we had a good stay. The price / value was excellent. The B&B is in the countryside - down a single track lane but was easy to find. Directions are provided but the satnav didn't struggle and Google street view covers it too. The owners were both very friendly and accommodating (no pun intended) without being intrusive. We stayed in the main house. A very clean room / bathroom was really all we needed.

We got that plus a comfortable four poster bed & Wi-Fi. The refreshments tray was a great touch - nice biscuits and the bottled water was useful. Would definitely stay again if returning to the area. What a lovely experience! This is a lovely B & B. After a very warm welcome we were shown to out lovely room in the annexe of the house. We were very impressed at the presentation and how clean and comfortable it was. We would definitely recommend this to other travellers and will definitely return here in the near future. Good stay! Although hidden in the countryside, this B&B is very good: the rooms are very clean and the bathroom spotless. Beds are comfortable and the service is good. The (optional) breakfast is ok: you can have continental breakfast, English breakfast or both. B&B. Lovely location down narrow roads but only 10 minutes to M5. Nice escape. Friendly staff. We stayed at the Brambles for one night as a stopover on our way home from Cornwall. Unfortunately I had underestimated how long it would take to get there.

Last check in was 9pm which I hadn't noticed, we were still at St Michaels Mount in Cornwall at 7.15pm, we phoned the owner who said he would wait an extra half hour for us as he had done a 15 hour day already, we just about made it. He was very accommodating considering. We stayed in the annexe which has a charm of its own, and went into the main house for breakfast which set us up nicely for the day, again the owner was very chatty and pleasant as he cooked our breakfast.As other people have said the lanes leading to the property are very narrow, but that is part of the charm of Devon, would definitely recommend the Brambles. Clean, comfy and welcoming. We stayed at the Brambles two nights weekend of the 4th/5th July as we were attending a wedding nearby. Very easy to find if you followed the directions, although the narrow, one vehicle width roads in the area were a bit of a shock as we're used to 'normal' two width roads. We had a warm welcome from the owners and as we were travelling nearly 6 hours to get there, the owners had already said they would wait up for us if we were late, which wasn't needed in the end but very reassuring.

Although there is a pub nearby, I didn't want to drive anymore and didn't want to walk the half mile to the pub on lanes with no paths, so we ended up just eating a few 'nibbles' we had left over from our 'car snacks', as there is no shop within easy walking distance. We stayed in one of the annex, which was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was only small but they have managed to fit a large shower in the space and this is a great plus. Well stocked refreshment tray. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of option and well cooked. Pleasant and welcoming owners. Would definitely recommend. Plenty of parking available at the back of the house. Quiet country location. Pub nearby in Uplowman with good food. Lovely cooked breakfast. Friendly and helpful owners. Charming room in converted farm building, although the room was a bit cramped. Directions to Brambles were good. Be prepared for narrow lanes with high hedges. Lovely walks. No problem with visiting Cothay Manor, a medieval manor, from Brambles. Clean, comfy, great value. Stayed here the night before a wedding, booked as wasn't excessively far and it was a late booking.

Cost £34 for the night but had a lovely double room with a comfy bed, the refreshments tray was well stocked and lovely, the bathroom was clean and very nice. The best thing though were the owners who were so very accommodating as I needed to check out early in the morning to go to the wedding and I was just able to leave the key in the door as I settled my bill the night before. Would certainly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area, great for single travellers and couples certainly. What a lovely place. Lovely place. We only stayed for a night on the way to westward ho, but what lovely place really comfortable and welcoming...the breakfast was superb would definitely return...the bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it home. Superb value. I stayed in this bed & breakfast on Friday 31 January having read a number of excellent reviews. I was not disappointed. The B&B offers excellent value accommodation. The room that I stayed in was an annex to the main house and was very spacious and comfortable. The room came equipped with free Wi-Fi and a TV with in-built DVD, which was especially useful given the weather on the evening that I stayed!
